This past Friday night, the Bulldogs Varsity Track team traveled to Tomball for the Cougar Relays and created something special with the start of the first race. That would be the 3200 meters for those unfamiliar with the traditional track schedule. That would be 8 laps of focus, pain, and pure determination.
Sophomore Dylan Sequeira had a game plan going in and made sure to stick with it. It was tactical, it was smart and it led to a NEW School Record! A School Record that has remained in place since it was first set on February 24th, 2007 in a time of 9:44.66. Dylan completed the 8 lap, 3200m distance, in a time of 9:41.89, breaking the previous by 2 minutes-77 seconds and earning first place in the process. Not bad for only the 3rd meet of the season and only the 2nd time this season to run the distance. Later that evening, Dylan set his own personal best in the 1600m, 4 laps, in a time of 4:29.54 which ended up a race to the finish where he took 1st once again.
No words can properly provide congratulations when setting a New School Record, so, AWESOME JOB! Let's see how much further you can take this!
